Okay, there's conventional ways of wiring......

Beat me to it 'NDG Elecs', was changing several lights today in a carehome and 2 of the existing fittings were wired in bell cable

Not the best on this forum so think I've posted that last one a few times

Install cert required if eicr has been done

I think the main issue was about the certification. As you said your doing and EICR and not an EIC certificate. The thing is the works carried out has to be certificated and notified so the client has all relevant documents identifying the WORKS YOU CARRIED OUT and not an EICR which is simply a...

Install cert required if eicr has been done

Well you would still need to provide a cert identifying that the RCD's were faulty, when you've already provided an EICR which will detail that there was no RCD protection installed for the installation. Basically, you should go back an test/certify the board change

Install cert required if eicr has been done

Even if you did copy the EICR results you would still need to issue an EIC and building control notification for the works carried out

Install cert required if eicr has been done

If you've already done a full EICR on the property, the only additional tests apart from identifying the new circuit layout would be the RCD tripping times. As you would have already recorded test results from your previous inspection

    3-phase cable calculation

there is no elements in the kiln, the kiln is formed from 2 containers. One houses the fuse board, a large furnace with a storage area with wood chipping. The furnace burns 24/7, and there's a small shaft which basically pushed chippings every so often into the furnace to keep it burning. Then...

    3-phase cable calculation

The kiln has small electrical draw. There 400v fans which circulate the heat, the source of file is chipping a from a small hydronic shaft. When I measured it, everything was set to maximum demand, so the desired temp was set above max output so would have thought that would have been the...

    3-phase cable calculation

What I alway get confused about is sometimes our drawings stare per phase and sometimes it's total consumption.

    3-phase cable calculation

95mm at £31 per meter, x 1000m is £31k for cable. Might be cheaper to contact U.K. Power networks for their own supply.

    3-phase cable calculation

So it is 64.9amps, 95mm. Wow. Guessing this isn't a viable option.

    3-phase cable calculation

I was thinking round 16mm to handle the voltdrop. So what I wanted to check, the current requirements its asking for, I'm guessing that's 21.6amps rather than 64.9amps. As there's a massive difference between 25mm and 95mm!

How to make this joint waterproof?

You can get them little magic gel click boxes, not ideal. I can't physically see where the cables enter the fitting. IP68 3-Pole In-Line Gel Filled Cable Connector -...

    3-phase cable calculation

But he can't be using 12kw per phase, so wouldn't that be the total split between phases? His current kiln is supplied via a 20kw diesel generator. When I was there before Christmas I measured the current on each phase at that point of time and it was only like 7-8kw between all 3.

    3-phase cable calculation

Hi, A while ago I posted about my neighbours 3-phase generator etc.... So he's being running through diesel like there's no tomorrow and been talking to a local barn who have said he can take the power from his property to supply their kiln. He's been measuring the his average usage over the...

    Coding flowing an EICR

Wow, I didn't know that. Just looked it up aswell. "SY control cables are not suitable for fixed wiring applications requiring compliance with the requirements set out in BS7671."

    Coding flowing an EICR

Thanks, the thread mainly cover the use and coding around the braiding being earthed, instead of the identication of the conductors themselves. Guessing C3 as the CPC has been not been used as a live conductor and non competent people should really be working on them without identifying which...

    Coding flowing an EICR

Hi All Writing up an EICR I've been doing recently, wanted to get fellow opinions on coding no identification of conductors throughout, everything's ran in SY cable with no sleeving, so both conductors are black?
