Does this setup contravene any regs or is it ok?

There was spare ways just thought I’d free up another one and connect the two at the board. The way it’s set up the cable run to the board compared to coming from the lobby light is about the same.

Wow 4 messages in one go. Never done that before. Normally that’s @Pete999 trick. :tearsofjoy:

No revisit. Did it while he was there.

It was the clients choice. I gave them the options but they opted for splashing out on all the trick bits instead. Just can’t convince some people.

Does this setup contravene any regs or is it ok?

Just to make it more clear. The property is a rather large single story building and the lobby is central to the building and loft directly above. Originally I intended to have the circuits separate but thought nothing was wrong with combining the two as it’s still only three lights and being...

Does this setup contravene any regs or is it ok?

He didn’t provide a reg number, that was just the only one I could really find that remotely resembles what he was blithering on about. Like others have said, I record the highest Zs and R1+R2 but now have to alter the results with another circuit. Thanks for all the reassurance guys and...

Does this setup contravene any regs or is it ok?

Yes it’s a domestic, new installation in a building conversion. He just said the regs state every circuit has to be contested to a separate breaker. Now that is true re; reg no. 314.4 but my argument was that as soon as I connected the two together this becomes a single circuit. This is how I...

Does this setup contravene any regs or is it ok?

I’ve just done a large job where I fitted a double stack board (23 ways) and by the time I’d finished we only had two spare ways left in the board. So I thought that I’d free up one more by moving the lighting circuit for the loft on to the lobby lighting circuit at the CCU so both circuits are...

frequently electrocuted by 1960's guitar amp

I stand corrected. Though in my mind electrocution will still mean death. I would want nothing less.

Technically your not getting electrocuted as that means you would be dead. Your probably getting an electric shock though. Sorry, had to get that one in. :tonguewink:

Fire proof cable entries and exploding glow sticks? Are they needed??

Any thoughts on these guys (Envirograf). Fire rated linings for sealing cable entries to metal consumer units - Envirograf - https://envirograf.com/product/fire-rated-linings-for-sealing-cable-entries-to-metal-consumer-units/ They seem to be promoting items that really are not needed in an...

really worn out today, heavy auto repair!

Well done mate. I too, used to enjoy fixing my old vans and cars. You get that satisfaction you can’t get when parting with cash to pay someone to do a job you can do. Unfortunately I hardly get time to change the oil these days let alone strip another transit engine to get that extra 100k...
