todays terminations

id like to see some of your.terminations if you have any photos etc.. be good to compare and get some ideas how to improve especially when space is critical.todays terminations turned out reasonably well apart from the two rear neutrals which had to come up.and over but options were limited... 16 x240 XLPE 120mm Earth plus additional 70mm earth

The laminated connections going to the isolator will get hot. There’s no two ways about that.
How much heat eddy currents will create is anyone’s guess. You can calculate the circulating current, it never tallies with real life.
The unrestrained cables? How many times has that been done without incident? It’s OK until it goes wrong. To calculate the effect the incoming MPFC is needed.
Unsheathed singles? As above ^
My real bugbear is the supply traversing an outgoing cubical. That is plain and simple bad practice.

Occasionally I feel embarrassed by my lack of knowledge - glad I don't have to touch industrial (much), one reason I like this forum, there are some old people with lots of experience willing to share.

im the same, im embarrassed to admit even though i have been doing bms for nnearly two years i know very little about it other than the field end (connecting into numbered terminals in panel is not exactly hard)

when i qualify ill look at going to either a maintinence firm for a few years or an industrial firm to extend my knowledge.

i know there are a lot of gaps in my knowledge at college even though i did the full 2330 i know they only covered standard domestic and because i only sat the test and didnt go to college for the renewables i only know what i have learnt myself

im very gratful to members like tony that will take time out of there day to explain things
