Go on then, what is your observation?
Is it more common to find a consumer unit positioned in full view, as a lovely feature in the middle of a wall?

Don't see many of those enclosure things under the stairs......and that's where the majority of internal cu's are.

If the cupboard (enclosure) is non combustible then why not?
Consumer units are not the only pieces of kit to be installed in cupboards (enclosures)

Yes I know it's Wikipedia but it's fairly self explanatory
No Charlie, I was trying to find something that even the hard of understanding could take in.
Such as has been happening for decades? Don't really have any thoughts on the subject.Such as those that need to google the word enclosure..
So what are your thoughts of a plastic consumer unit being located within a non combustible cupboard/cabinet/enclosure or whatever you wish to call it
hahaha you had to google the word enclosure :dunce2:
i think you are getting confused, an 'electrical enclosure' as per your Google search is something such as a consumer unit.
Try googling 'enclosure'
Is that where you locate consumer units?
Well if that's where the supply comes in there's not much choice. Semis under the stairs, terraced near the front door.
Not supposed to be putting consumer units under stairs.. Tut tut
