This course any good?

Hi everyone

Im definitely gonna be in college next September to study Electrotechnical Level 2 and was just wondering in the mean time is this course any good? I'm attracted by the 17th Edition which means I can work but think maybe its a Mickey Mouse course?

Any help would be appreciated, also I am currently looking for an apprenticeship and am from Manchester but am willing to relocate if I need to. If any of you know of anyone who is willing to take on a keen apprentice with no experience I wouldnt forget it!

I really want to be a sparky and appreciate any help or comments from you all.

Don't do it. Waste of your time and money. If you want to be an electrician take your time and do the proper courses. The course you have linked to is suitable only for chancers who want to try blagging their way into a trade with minimal knowledge and zero experience.

Dont do it pal its just a waste of money, even if you do the course you have suggested it wont have any affect when you start college next year you will still have to start at the same level so save your money.

Also what course are you looking to start next year? there are 2 main ways to be qualified now and that is the c&g 2357 level 3 diploma which is the apprenticeship route where you need to be employed in the industry to get onto this course (now) this i believe is the best route as when you finish the 4 year apprenticeship you will have the technical certificate and the am2 and the nvq3 so you will be able to get your jib gold card. The other way is the c&g 2365 technical certificate of which you will do a level 2 and then do a level 3 then the am2 and nvq3 all separate and this is the route for people who are not currently employed in the industry as you can do your tech cert then find a job to complete the nvq3.

Either way mate it takes a good few years to get qualified correctly, i would just say buy a few of the electrical installation books and read through them before you start college.

As has been said by all the other already, dont waste your money mate.

Much better off with some decent books and have a good read of them until you start the proper course and start gaining a core qualification

Who wants to be taught by this annoying guy anyway.

Who would employ someone without qualifications and experience ?

dont you employ apprentices .. (No Qualifications or Experience)

I think that people who have Paid and done the NON apprenticeship course show they are KEEN to learn and willing
Were you get some apprentices who Fool around a lot and dont learn naff all (guess because they still have the school play time head on)
Think my Tutor in my First year at College, pointed out "if you F up here you out doing a dead end job if your lucky" Nice guy 1/2 my class left because of him and always taking the pee out of me, i think i also showed him up about few times, they didnt renews his contract ever
