Good evening, I have bollard style lighting to install in a customers garden, was looking for any ideas that anyone has both for the lights and the installation method.

My current plan is to get bolt down bollard style lights and intall them on breeze block pads with a hole cored through the middle for the cable and sink them into the ground. Was going to use SWA but debating using another outdoor cable without an armour but in ducting, any ideas? Would be to save having to use junction boxes to terminated the armour cable!

Any ideas are welcome, cheers!

Have you got the lights or do you need to buy them still?

This summer I am hopefully going to fit 4 KSR Bollards in my back garden as they will look nice, the solid wood version, Polo i think from the top of my head. They are about £400 each, you then need to buy a ground fixing kit too.

Soz mate cant post links for some reason....new phone. Just a standard 20mm galv conduit y box with gasket and lid. Last bollards I fitted a few weeks ago were saxby which didn't seem to bad really. As davesparks described they come with J bolts and jig so can be set in to concrete etc.

I've not used Saxby bollards yet but most of their stuff I have fitted has been good quality for the price

It will more than likely be Saxby if I supply as that is who I generally use from Yesss! There will be about 10 lights I would think, £400 a pop is definitely a no go lol!

Did id you see my post about the drill UK?

voltage ?

I ended up ditching 240vac for 12V because of Ip rating and the bollards requested came complete with H05 Cable. I jointed cables into a large industrial control panel box.
If you can get swa in and maintain a decent IP great...otherwise ELV - glad I did after all the rain.. lol

I'd be saying bollards to that !!

I fitted 10 saxby stainless steel bollard fittings on some decking behind a pub and they were good , that was about 5 years ago , never had any problems with them, couldn't justify £400 each though..

I hate burying anything like that , I would rather mount the boxes on a post or something than bury boxes , Number 1 Tip , always select Post/Bollard lights with space to do that Number 2 . don't let the customer go shopping if you can help it ...LOL..
