i coil some scrap 1.5mm bare copper wire round the heatshrink, then connect the ends to a 240V supply. fed by a 16A MCB and RCD protected, i then switch on through an immersion heater timer bought from azamon at a silly low price, made in china, set for 3 minutes, time enough to imbibe of a pint of glorious hobgoblin. if the heatshrink survives and passes IR and continuity tests, wrapp it round with 2 layers of insulating tape (as per manufacturers instructions from B&Q), then bung it into a void , never to be seen again.
Your just being ridiculous now.

well, having forgot the chip pan was on, and almost burnt the house down, think i can afford to be ridiculous. still coughing from the smoke inhalation. fire brigade chap said i should have got out instead of tackling it. silly sod. as if i'm going to run off and leave 3 dogs. anyway. not as bad as it looked. a couple of kitchen units scrap, along with the cooker hood. smoke damage that a couple of coats of dulux will fix. happy days.

edit: and it's you're.not your. :hammer:

That's awful - can you blame the Hobgoblin or was it just you being an Arsenal?

Well its you're :winkiss: own fault, fried chips are know to be dangerous to health.

Edit: Use a capital letter to start each sentence, and after a colon if the introduction is short and the words after the colon are the main idea and a complete sentence.

Thanks for your're replies chaps, I'll peruse them later.

Try the CPC website for the micro therm IRODA gas torch - amazing little thing that uses a standard lighter and has a heat deflector for accurate work. Only 10.99 - I'm waiting for a spare 10.99 before I get one believe it or not! Unless anyone can review its efficacy then looks like a keeper.
I got something similar from ebay, but could never get the cigarette lighter to fit & seat into the gun. This one works okay then?

Couple of bad reviews and one would use in an emergency. I think the idea of the Creme brûlée torch for very little money or the blow torch style if you have the extra cash - it's always good to buy quality that lasts if you can afford it.

can'tblamethe beer.i was on the first one. as it turned out, that was the only one yesterday. i was working on a quote and just forgot the bloody pan.

Absolutely correct they hold water, shrouds are totally unnecessary. 20s is 24mm spanner, 20 large is 30mm spanner.
