For this stuff just get yourself a 13A extension lead. Job done.
 
easiest way is 2 x 4way extension leads. fit all the plug tops each with a 3A fuse. then neither the extension leads or the ring final circuit could not overload. no fuss, no mess minimal cost.

yes you can, but fuse each plug top @ 3A or 5A.
 
Usually, yes.
There should be some information on the back of the TV stating the power consumption in Watts.
Divide this number by 230, to obtain the rating of the required fuse.
Don't be surprised if it works out less than 1A.
 
and bear in mind that the fuse is there to protect the cable, not the appliance.
 
Personally I use surge protected strips for my AV/computer/sensitive electronic equipment. Saves hassle when short of socket outlets and the total load is still small. IMO the protection is well worth the relatively small cost.
 
My 50" LED TV consumes 51w whilst on. I have a very similar setup (as would alot of people I suspect) and have it all plugged into a surge protector with no issues.
