Having just acquired a secondhand Megger 1552 with no calibration cert, I need to attend to this pdq. Can I use a checkbox and record my checks in a log, or do I need to get it officially calibrated before I can do that?
Any advice on type/brand/features of checkboxes, or are they all much of a sameness? There are some for £25 on ebay, are they any good/to be trusted?

If you are going for assessment best to get it calibrated not all do but my assessor asked to see mine. Never used calibration box on ebay have a different one but you also have a check card that some use. So long as it gives consistent reading after megger calibrated you should be ok.

Hope that helps
