I've still got my clamp meter from before I bought the fancy shmansy digital Dialog. It also still works fine but isn't very accurate below 50 mA.

I bought the same dilog from Test-Meter and it started doing the same as you describe Midwest. Id had it for at least a year, probably closer to 2. Test meter sent me out another without any quibble and didnt even want the old one back.......

I now have 2 Dilogs that dont get used as they both give ridiculous results!

Funnily enough, when I rang test-meter tech, there was a silent pause when I said about the problem, so they put me through to sales, who said I'll get someone who deals with them. I was put on hold.........the line went dead after two mins

It doesn't look good on Test-Meter this.....

Maybe write to Dilog UK ...................... but be warned I've tried in the past about another product and they didn't even have the decency to reply to me.

So maybe this is your best approach ..

Is he rowing, or is that a light sabre in his hands. If its the latter, I won't bother him.

Mines a CM original, which I think is the basis for all these different products? Might sell it on ebay, saying its a cosmic disturbance detector, all the flashing & numbers its displaying?

For £216 you could get yourself a Megger DCM305E. I've never had any issues with this great piece of kit.

I'm considering getting this Chinese domestic market fluke 368. It doesn't come with the wireless facility but it is half the price of the European market version. I have already bought a fluke 373 clamp meter and it is made in Taiwan and my trusty fluke 179 is made in China so the fact it was made in China doesn't put me off

Just a quick question on these various earth leakage meters...Looking at the spec of the Megger its states the resolution is 0.001mA...

So are they saying it resolves down to a thousandths of a mA or do they actually mean it resolves down to 1 mA?

Edit to add, I've just found the info in the specs on their site...Its lowest range is 6mA and this range has a resolution of 0.001mA, which is a thousandth of a mA....

And then they'll have a phrase something like "plus 8 digits" which I think may mean effective resolution 0.01mA (ish), if I understand correctly

I would think that anything that was accurate to .1mA would be more than good enough for domestic work, given most RCD's are rated to 30mA???
