Doing a job the other day, and spiltmy bits and bobs box all over the Garage floor, oh bum, knelt down to pick it all up and knelt on a screw, painful then and even more so today, anyone else done anything stupid and hurt themselves?

I've got a set of steps like that... fractured the leg when it got caught on a door frame as I was moving them. Thinking about cutting them down and transferring the feet
I would say my worst is broken foot from falling out of a loft when my ladder slipped, other than that minor bumps, bruises and the odd chisel in wrist (I was young... didn't understand I needed to keep my hands behind the blade)

I think @SparkyChick has had the most injuries and that’s whilst being on the forum.
Recent wrist injury
Recent ankle as I recall - I don’t mean anything by it of course.
End of the week I’m covered in finger bandages and bruised and aching shoulders .
I agree though with the flat screwdriver in the pocket sticking upwards - that’s a habit of mine that’ll end in a punctured liver one day soon.

Elbowed a screw which was pointing out into the electric cupboard I was working in a few months ago, which was the tightest space I had ever worked in.

Got myhand stuck up behind a floor joist when I was put under a downstairs floor to run some cables, I was a mere Lad at the time.
It was a case of E=mV2 I'm afraid. I used the ladder legs as a crumple zone, ha ha. All a planned move of course completely in accord with the site Risk Assessment ... Ladder already re deployed by Wifey as a pot plant stand in back garden.

Cut the twin flex of my bedside light with a pair of metal scissors when I was about 8 years old...that threw me out of bed! I still have the scissors, with a bit of a nick in the blades, which is quite good for stripping cable...
Mrs Pirate had a nasty accident DIYing. She was decorating and up on a chair in her socks (yes, and other clothes, before you ask!) and she jumped down to fetch more paint for the roller, and one foot landed on a triangular scraper, you know, the type with three sides and three very sharp points...it was new, very sharp and sliced into her heel...we never did get the blood out of the carpet...maybe if I had washed it right away, but she was wittering on a bit so I left it.
Other renowned sharp things are a 13A plug, and Lego, when you stand on them in the dark.
