Discuss NVQ LEVEL 3 PORTFOLIO!! in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

you need pics. of work you are diong or have done as well as getting some shots of you actually working.. fixing tray/trunking/conduit; wiring something up; performing safe isolation; using a MFT etc.etc.

Check on eBay. You can buy people's completed portfolios for less than £5 to use as an example. You won't be able to pass any of it off as your own work though as it is likely your assessor is clued up to this sort of thing.

.
I think the idea is you're supposed to do it yourself to verify that you are capable of doing the job yourself.
Back in my day, getting someone else to do it for you was called "cheating".
the new logbooks are on usb sticks i was told, not sure if there are maybe complications with the new way, i just drew pictures in a book lol

I was supposed to be given my portfolio to fill out in March. That never happened cos of COVID. Won’t be getting it till end of November!
Just praying my phone doesn’t break before then and I loose the last 2 years worth of pictures!
Still don’t understand why I need to go in college for 2 days to be given log in details to whatever portfolio system our course is signed on to.

The assessor will have a set of model answers to these questions and will be looking for key points and terminology from those model answers to be reflected in your answer.

Its all a bit false as the answers rarely reflect reality.

In reality how to use tools is a skill acquired over time from observation, practice and instruction from those more experienced.

The model answer will be something along the lines of :-

"I would only use a particular tool where authorised to do so after reading the instructions, undergoing training and only using the tools I am authorised to use by my supervisor, and if necessary under supervision whilst wearing all appropriate PPE and following site policies and procedures."

Your answers end up being a bit of BS bingo trying to squeeze all the buzzwords and phrases in but its what they want to see.

A bit of practice and it all becomes easier and you will race along.

Photos that are as important as that should be backed up. Copy them to a laptop or USB stick.
