Scheme Logos on work uniform.

Just interested to know the opinions of members here.
How do you guys and girls feel about Scheme Logos on work T-shirts. I'm noticing more and more people rocking up at the wholesalers counter with the scheme logos on their T-shirts, (NICEIC in particular).
Personally when I see these people I automatically assume they are just Domestic Installers, of course it could be me just stereotyping.
I'm more interested in what do you guys and girls do ?
Does this generate more work, do those that wear scheme logos on work wear find that it generates more work and do they find it reassuring for the customer.

I personally hate being a walking advertisement for anyone especially someone like the NICEIC who I have no respect for, what's everyone's opinion on this ?

I could understand if your in one of the less recognised schemes that you wouldn't want to flaunt it

From a customers point of view, taking recommendations and reputation out of the equation both contractors offer the same price..

If Peter turns up to price for a job in a New VW with full Van wrap and NICEIC logos over the place do you think in general he is more likely to get the job over Paul who turns up in a White Transit and no branding ?

Obviously in an ideal world the customer would hopefully choose the person who has reccomendations and good reviews etc.

I've always been against advertising large logos on any kind of clothing but the post was created really because in the future is this something I, or anyone else who has a new company should be looking into.

It isn't hugely expensive to get polo shirts or sweat shirts with your own company logo and gives you a professional look.

I have my own logos on T-shirts and I got off Ebay these quite good iron on vinyl logos for £3 each that I've ironed on to some plan black Matalan jumpers, so far they have lasted a good few washes..
I have no scheme branding though.

What I was meant was when I'm standing at the counter in my local wholesalers, I noticed that 9 out of 10 times the person next to me has got NICEIC plastered all over his T-shirt. I didn't mean the wholesalers were selling them.

I think they might be purchased through the schemes, NICEIC might be recommended their members wear them ? I know they have a bit of reputation for strongly recommending their members use their test forms etc.

tried some iron on logos. they dissolved in the wash. current polo shirts were screen printed in South Africa. no problems so far.

I'm against advertising these scams err I mean schemes but the way things are going I think we are getting to the point
Whereas the bloke that doesn't sport a logo will be discriminated against . Also the market leader ( niceic) will carry more clout and eventually be the only game in town. Watch their fees rocket then ! The irony is we will have brought it about ourselves with the free advertising and marketing .

Proper embroidered polo shirts last for years .......I have some that are 7 years old .....

At the end of the day it’s business everyone is going to do what’s in the best interest for their own business to advertise themselves in the best way they see fit whether that’s signs on a van, company clothing, leaflets, website etc.

I have company logo on shirt, I wouldn't go for scheme logo though. A mate of mine ended up changing schemes because the one he was with couldn't fit him in for an assessment for 4 months! Put a bit of tape over the embroidered logo on his polo shirts.

In the time I was with my scheme, not one domestic customer asked me which scheme I was with, or even knew of such a system.

I suspect some commercial or industrial customers might know might, but how would that have an impact on site or in the wholesalers?

Surely the point of logo's on your kit, is to advertise your business not someone else's. Nice polo shirts mind, those AVS ones. Hides my six pack
