just received an email that got my spider-sense tingling. The wording is odd, and there is nothing specific in the email like, where they live, or a phone number, or who recommended me.
I’ve had mailshots before thanks to being listed on CPS websites and ESR, but never one like this. See what you think :

“Hello

I would like to get a quote for a full electrical job at my property and was wondering if you would be available to replace the fuse box and maybe just check the electrics for me? I may need a few sockets installed as well and also carry out some major renovation works there.

We are looking to change and fix in new LED Lights, Storage Heaters, Lighting, Cable, Consumer Units, Sockets & Switches.

Kindly get back to me so i can send you pics of the property and see if you are available to carry out the work.

Best regards”

I've just had this from solomonwealth009@outlook

It's certainly one of the more convincing ones! Scary, as someone will fall for it. Unless of course it's real and we've all lost out on a big job!

Best regards

What a bunch of bar stewards.
But also, what a bunch of rookies - at least make the scams more believable! I could do a much better job, if i was that way inclined.
In fact, after crawling around in a dusty itchy loft for the last 5 days, cyber crime is starting to look like a more attractive career choice...
