So, I've had another Monday off and am sat watching rubbish daytime tv with dog on my lap, well he's 9 stone so I don't have a choice in the matter :(
But I do have a serious question for anyone who runs their own business, this probably applies more to the ones who employ staff.

Why do I feel bad if I take a unscheduled day off, I'm talking about feeling almost sick about something but not sure what.
My lads are more than capable to handle things so it's not that and if it is a Bank holiday or weekend or Xmas I'm fine.
It happens everytime I decide to take a day off for no reason as in I have nothing planned.
Is it just me that's a weirdo or do others have the same problem ( I hope it's not just me )
The easiest way to explain it is if you've ever had some thing bad bothering you and you feel sick and worried abiut it. But with this I have nothing to worry about.
Any ideas!!!

I think it's perfectly normal.

It's good your guys can handle it because it does mean you can take a day off, but at the end of the day, it's your business... your baby. You're always going to feel a certain level of anxiety when you step away from the coal face so to speak.

I'm not in the same position because I don't employ people but when I'm on holiday (not Christmas or bank holidays) I think I should be working :)

9 stone pooch... what is it?

Ha ha take it she loves the snow, I can only just make her out.

Just crack a beer and stop worrying about it :D

In all seriousness, I used to feel that way a lot - either because I wasn't working or because I had concerns about how a project was going, even if there were no real problems.

It's less now, but still there sometimes if the pressure is on in some way. I think it's fairly normal and probably a sign we're at least semi-decent, industrious human beings ;)

I will add a phrase from 1637 by Descartes 'I think, therefore I am'. There's a whole industry now based on getting us to feel better by thinking more of more positive things. Dog walking time !!!
