Before the onset of all these lovely red and yellow screwdrivers and tools,do any of the older Members recall what type, make of screwdrivers etc they used? my y introduction to insulated screwdrivers were the stuff Electricity Board Meter-men were issue with, the sort that if you found one you kept quiet because you knew they didn't buy it and would get it replace without any cost to themselves, Mercenary I know but it wasn't stealing. anyway I used the Stanley type 44 I think it was, wooden handle, what did you aged Sparkies use?

Wooden handle screwdriver :tearsofjoy:
Yes, you don't know how lucky you are Mate, I searched the internet and found one, I have renovated it and restored it to it's original glory, so don't you dare knock it OK!!!!! Kin Kids eh.

:)
I think my dad has or had some up the shed by the way i is with a capital I, should be setting a good example with the bad spelling police.:):):):):):):):D
Like this i London i Paris i Brussels i Johannesburg i am really over this!

If I remember correctly, most tools in the olden days had wooden handles as normal, so they were not just wood handles for insulated screw drivers, everything had wood handles, chisels, screwdrivers, Drill brace,Hamer etc etc etc. all normal.

I still have one of those and have used it recently as well, I also have the handyman as well! Blast from the past for most people I know, most of them remember their dad's using one at some point in the 80s
