So I have a job to provide power to a cabin in a back garden.. Will be 3core 6mm SWA through back garden, consumer unit is at the front of the house, there is no way to dig the cable round to the back of the house as its a terraced house with a pathway to the back garden so will need to be run round the outside on the wall. Once in the back garden will be buried 600mm deep.

There are a few options I can think of:
- Try to use SWA all the way (Or too a Wiskabox before entry to house) and use 90 degree bend down to get round the corner of the house.
- 25mm pvc conduit carrying T&E to a wiskabox where changes to SWA
-20mm pvc conduit carrying 6mm singles to a wiska box where it changes to SWA.

Ive not used 3 core SWA much, how practical is it to get it round a 90 degree bend on a wall neatly?

Interested to know how anyone else would do this.

your other option, cable in conduit ( black pvc) to wiska box around corner then into SWA is viable. remember to use earthing nut or banjo to earth the SWA armour.

sooooo many things wrong with some of these suggestions, but andys got it right, you cant mallet the swa in to a tight bend because you contravene minimum bend radiuses.and you shouldn't be knocking the corners off bricks or drilling holes at 45* because it destroys their weather proof outer layer and they will be crumbling away in no time damaging the property.
The correct way to get an swa or pyro round a 90* corner is this ... works for any external and internal 90* corners... if for some reason it can only go in a straight line round the bend then you will have to put up with a slight bulge in and bulge out..but at least the cable will be undamaged either way.
Regards.

But bricks are not waterproof and will only have a waterproof layer if it's been chemically added.

I said weatherproof not waterproof.and I'm afraid you are mistaken bricks do have a weatherproof hard outer layer without adding chemicals.....
A quote from bricks & Brass............

However, if you have a damp problem, removal is still the best solution. Sand-blasting and other abrasive methods are not safe for most brick walls; they damage the hard outer skin of the brick, allowing erosion of the softer core.

Every days a school day :)
