Can anyone please tell me what this Is? One wire runs a light, the other runs a forget extension, one looks to run to the box in the wall which I presume maybe earth, one is blank and it is all plugged into the wall. Can this just be unplugged, the box removed from the wall

Looks like one of the four terminals has no cover with fully exposed live parts

Better get some insulation tape over that...

Or better still sling the death trap in the bin

I believe that type of multiway connection unit was made by Masterplug, but not 100% certain. Never like them because the way the covers were secured on the plugs was very flimsy. Hence why one of yours had become detached.

As above, disconnect it and bin it. Fit standard 13A plug tops (hi George) and use a good branded multiway extension lead. If you're feeling really crazy then get a spark to fit you a couple of extra double sockets.

but that's toolstation. can't tell a fuse from a light switch

I'm sure we all agreed it was plug-tops and bulbs. Didn't we?
i planted some bulbs. they grew ito tulips. can't wait to see what comes up from the plug tops i planted. will they grow into fully fledged plugs???
