Hi

Just carried out a PIR and the cut out has been completely covered/boarded over - how do I go about recording Protective Device information? what code if any can I give this?

Also can anyone hazard a guess at the age of the installation from the photos please?

Thanks

P.S.

Forgot to ask - this is my first commercial PIR do the same rules apply to bonding (there is none) and RCD protection for socket outlets (again there is none) as it does to domestic.

Mark

LIM the characteristics of the OPD And CODE 3 the Observation on page 2 and refer to the photos

>35 years - Evidence of alterations = YES - Estimated Age <5 years

YES - same rules apply
But do the sockets outlets need additional protection?

Hi Semaphore

Thanks for the helpful advice - Socket outlets in the office are behind plasterboard partition with T&E less than 50mm so I would assume protection required.

Socket outlets in workshop are singles run in metal conduit but are used with extension lead to operate appliances (inspection lamps etc) outdoors - would these require protection?

Thanks

Mark

yes mate,
additional protection by 30mA rcd must be provided for socket outlets supplying mobile equipment with a current rating not exceeding 32 A for use outdoors
and also for the sockets in the office installed at a depth of less than 50mm

just re wrote it mate

It's a yes to both then
And probably the Portable Appliances need testing too?
And possibly additional sockets installed to prevent extension leads from being used?
Are they a trip hazard?
