hi all, just out of curiosity can you tell me why these have different glands.
1st is a junction box for an outside light and 2 nd is an isolation for an aircon

By the looks of it, in the first pic they have used SY cable. That is not suitable for fixed wiring. With regards to the gland, they have just used a through gland. Would be interested to see if that have done anything with the screen inside the box..
In the second pic they are used SWA cable and so have used the glands specific (the ones with the black sleeving) for this cable and are not 'through' glands.

Different types of cable maybe? what is the IP rating of these glands? don't look right for E the application they are used in, in the 1st Pic the cable is SY think the others are FP200
 
JB: SWA via CWs, SY via stuffing glands
Isolators: One SY via what might be genuine slotted SY glands under boots, other SY via stuffing gland. In and out were probably done at different times by different people.
