Hi, a friend has just sent me this snippet from their hot tub instructions asking for advice.
Its a plug in hot tub. Also specified are a 30mA circuit and a 10mA PRCD.

Any thoughts? As I said, its and inflatable, plug in, temporary hot tub

Yeah thats all cool, I was more wondering about the equipotential bonding point on the pump, its "recommend" apparently, but how would go about this practically?
I would say bonding would be unwise on tncs,

strange that it asks for bonding perhaps it is not double insulated although would have still thought it would be taken care of within the unit using the CPC from the plug, maybe it is also sold in a country which often has un-earthed exstension leads etc

A lot of these have the 10mA rcd on the flex, so there’s a normal 13A plug top that can fit inside an IP socket with the flap closed. No need for a blue 3 pin.

What would you equipotentially bond it to though?
A metal fence? Exposed copper pipe to outside tap?

I did a thread on the Lazy Spa tubs, I recognise those instructions, I thinks. I don't think there's a need to cut off the plug, they come with a 10mA inbuilt RCD. They are US based product, supplied here in the UK, hence the thing about grounding of the pump. I can't recall what we decided about that?
