Hi.
Customer has asked me to extend these pendants. They are not sold as class 2 & the wiring cup has an earth tag, but, as you see they are wired without a cpc. I do a lot with these sort of lights and conduit lights and buy the uk made ES holder with internal earthing point. Would you rewire? If the cable came loos the body is not insulated. Is the ceramic enough to protect. I guess I could solder the cable in where they have crimped. Trying to get ones this big to fit glass shades but with a CPC but struggling. Overthinking? Thanks guys.

I'm fed up with these light fittings that are neither Class 1 nor Class 2. Make up your own mind what they are, and fit them as if you were installing them in your own home. If they are not safe, just refuse to fit them...

The crap that's being sold as class 2 in that it's impossible to get two 1.5mm² cables, it's beyond a joke.

How is that not exposed metalwork ? i refuse to wire this sort of thing as it is.
the Chinese seem to think earthing and cpc‘s are an optional extra!
if you have too make it proper class 1, pity you dont get an isolating transformer with them
