Hi all. I bought a food warming unit from an auction and on receipt noticed that a few wires had been cut and there is no plug. I figured it would be easy to add a plug however I cant seem to find the hot wire. This is leading me to believe that there might be an electrical...thing missing that could have been removed. I have looked everywhere and don't see any sign of a missing piece but you all would know better. If you couldn't tell, I am not well versed speaking the electrician's lingo so thanks in advance for your patience and sorry for the crude drawing.

Drawing is good.
I don’t think there is anything missing and an electrician or appliance engineer should be able to put a plug and lead on without much trouble

I think it is outside of the diy advice though and would urge you to use a local registered electrician on this occasion.

as indicated by the warning label on picture number 1

Looks like it might have been deliberately disabled, either because there's a known fault with it, or as a liability limiting exercise.
Don't think there's anything missing, but I wouldn't be applying power to it without extensive testing first.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to look for a electrician to come over and do this. Better safe than sorry.

Therein lies the problem. I see no merit in further circular debate, so will bow out of this discussion.
