Newbie alert!
I have this lovely aluminium outdoor lamp (parts are milled from a solid aluminium billet), but the IP44 rating did not cut it with the fierce English rain. It had water ingress. Driver and LED died.
It would be easy to replace the driver (a miniature driver similar in size to e.g. Recom RACD04) and the LED with a similar 20mm star chip. The lamp had a 3W output so I guess I should stick to this value for thermal dissipation.
I am looking for a miniature driver (housing is a standard 38x27mm) that I could safely pair with a 20 mm star shaped LED as a replacement. Previous driver reads "6-12V/DC 23V max", not sure why you'd get different votage output with a given 220V input.
If you could point me towards a minature driver + a LED that could safely be paired in series, with no need for a resistor, it would help a lot.
Thank you.
