UK Bathroom extractor fan question

Hi all,

I'm new here and looking for a bit of advice. I have a bathroom extractor fan with it's own independent pull-cord switch (see pic). There is also an isolator switch outside the bathroom. I'm doing some renovation and wondering if the isolator is actually necessary if the fan itself has an on/off switch and is on it's own circuit? Seems a bit 'belt and braces' at the moment. Any thoughts/advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

The Isolator switch is for maintenance to save switching off the the whole circuit which the lights and the extract fans are normally wired into, saves trying to work on the fan with no lights in the room the fan extracts from.
