Hello all,
I have a shaver socket that I would like to change for a light switch. The socket is wired into the light circuit. The problem I have is that the shaver socket is vertical and fixed on a tiled wall. The only switch I can find that fits is a 2 gang 45A vertical DP switch. Can this be used as a light switch, I’m guessing that the load in live would be the Com and the load out live would be the L1.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Why are you trying to change it to a light switch. In normal circumstances the wiring configuration would not achieve the actions of a switch.
Was hoping to use the existing shaver point to control the lights either side of the mirror rather than fitting a new back box and switch and fitting a blanking plate on the shaver back box.

I would recommend you get an electrician involved because what you intend to do requires alterations to the existing wiring system and hence requires notification under Part P of the Building Regulations.
