I am having some trouble with replacing a lighting fixture. I have done many throughout the house without issue, but this one is perplexing me. It is a light with two switches. When I took the light down, I was in a hurry but I swear both the black and white wires on the fixture were wired to two whites coming from the ceiling. The new lighting fixture arrived broken, so time passed while I waited for the replacement so I'm a little fuzzy on the original details.
The attached image shows the current setup and wiring scheme. Both switches are wired identically. From the ceiling there is a ground and two each of white and black. One of the blacks continuously has 110V volts across it, regardless of switch location (checked with multi-meter.) If the two blacks touch (oops!) it blows the breaker. How should I be hooking this light fixture up?
Thank you very much in advance! This is kind of an emergency as we have decided to sell our home and I've got to get this fixed asap.
