Hi there,

I just picked up a MI 3152 and just playing around with it. I'm trying to do a fault loop impedance test on a socket outlet in my home. I'm selecting Zs rcd as the circuit is on an RCD and I don't want it to trip. As soon as I hit the test button, I get the error symbol in the top right and that other square icon next to the "play" button in the bottom left and nothing else happens. I can't find any reference to the square icon in the bottom left next to the play button and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Any idea?

Cheers.

HI,
Not used one of these instruments, but looking at the user guide, I can see you have it set up for a type C circuit breaker. You said it was for sockets in your house. Do you have type C, circuit breaker protecting your sockets?
Will read further the user guide, see if I can locate anthing else.

Hi again,
Found this here:
it is the short guide and on page 6 it shows all the message symbols and the one you have indicates Fuse F1 is blown
Regards
JohnC
Thank you John! I searched through a few variations of the manual and they didn't have that symbol. I just checked the fuse (should have been my first though, doh!) and it is indeed blown. It is a second hand unit so I will will replace and see how I go but I suspect that will solve the issue. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and give a helpful suggestion.
Regards.

I have one of those as a spare and agree that fuse symbol shouldn’t be there.
I don’t usually bother setting the breaker type btw
Mine looks like this pre-test:
