I have a small motor that I use to sharpen my kitchen knives, this has like a capacitor, is for 2 wires, but dont have signs where the blue wire go and where the red wire go, this motor starts and soon it stops, how to test it, i have 2 images,

If the motor starts normally, the capacitor is probably correctly connected but might be faulty and breaking down when subjected to working voltage. I would change it, 75% of the time this will solve the problem. Alternatively the motor may be cutting out because a thermal protector is switching it off, either because the capacitor is indeed faulty, or the motor windings are damaged and taking excessive current.

I would agree that the motor is by far the best part to replace. if it is powered and not turning then it is broken. Keep it simple!
