Hello. I'm fitting some Fibaro Dimmer 2 smart switches and hoping to get some advice on best practice around cable colors. Usually the modules are installed behind the switch in which case it's obvious what is connected to perm live, switched live etc. However the need has come to install the module in the crawl space above the room. I'm going to fish down some 3 core and earth, one for the common (Sx) and one for each momentary switch (S1, S2), see diagram below.

My question is what colors should I mark each core as, since they arn't being used for a standard purpose?

Thanks in advance.

I would put the letter markings S1/S2/Sx on both ends, much more meaningful than arbitrary colours. Maybe substituting C for Sx at the switch end. I would use brown for the common as it has primacy over the other two colours., unless the modules are not designed for long cable runs on the switch inputs in which case I would use the less obvious colour grey for the common, as that has lower capacitance to the other cores on account of being on the opposite side to the CPC. But I would hope they have thought of that and made them tolerant of a reasonable cable length.

Thanks Lucien, yes that makes more sense than just using colours. Fibaro have diagrams for mounting the module in a ceiling rose, so I think a short run to the crawlspace will be ok.
