Hello there!

Could anybody help me with this query please, I am not sure where to look up the information I need?

As I understand it, cables must be at least 25mm from an actual boiler or gas pipe? But could anyone please point me in the direction of any information regarding any regulations for the distance of a cable from the internal ducting of a gas boiler exhaust flue?

[ElectriciansForums.net] Cable distance from boiler flue internal duct?

Ideally I would like to run a cable in plastic trunking up at the corner of the room and above the boiler, underneath ceiling. This would be in order to feed a socket in a high wall cupboard for a cooker fan. The gap is about 4 inches between the boiler exhaust going in to the wall and the ceiling. Would this be ok, I would I need to find a different route?

Thanks for your time?

James

No distances are specified, only that the installation must be environmentally suitable. So if the area is going to get HOT then you need to apply the relavent allowances when you do your cable calculations.

Given the outer part of the flue brings in air from outside it doesn't get that warm

I would be more concerned by the lump of timber down the side of the boiler as it looks like it doesn't meet the manufacturers clearance requirements
