Discuss Veritas R8 - Disable PIR in the Security Alarms, Door Entry and CCTV (Public) area at ElectriciansForums.net
Thanks for information. What would linking out the alarm contact in the PIR require me to do?The easiest way would be to link out the alarm contact in the PIR
Alternatively factory default the panel and then reprogram it
The PIR will have three pairs of connections which are power + & -, tamp or tamper and alm or alarm if you put the 2 cables in the alarm connections together in one connector this will link out the PIR and once the lid is replaced if you reset the panel then you should be able to set it normallyThanks for information. Thanks. So just join the two alarm cables together (red and black in this picture). Sorry for several questions - want to make I don't do anything foolish! The PIR will have three pairs of connections which are power + & -, tamp or tamper and alm or alarm if you put the 2 cables in the alarm connections together in one connector this will link out the PIR and once the lid is replaced if you reset the panel then you should be able to set it normally
Tried this today. Sadly did not fix issue. One PIR has red LED constantly on and alarm will not set (unless omit the zone when setting it). Do you have any other suggestions?Yes to join them just put both cables in one of the alarm terminals
So can you give a little more info to see if we can narrow down the fault
When you try to set the panel what indicators are lit or flashing on the remote keypad, is the green LED on the main control unit solid or flashing
Do you know when the panel battery was last changed in the main control box
As a last resort you could reset the panel to factory defaults and reprogramme it but you would
Thanks - so disconnect both tamper wires for this PIR within the main panel? Everything else keep as is?coulds be a alarm - tamper short on the cable. in which case need to remove tamper pair in panel.
These panels have a global tamper so you will have to identify the correct pair at the panelThanks - so disconnect both tamper wires for this PIR within the main panel? Everything else keep as is?
