How to get phone signal and internet in basement

Hi I’m wondering if anyone could help me I basically moved into a rental property February this year I’ve been unable to get internet I’ve had open reach engineers quite me 3k for 3 poles to get internet down to the basement flat I’m living in. I can’t afford it so I’ve been balancing my mobile phone on the back door (the only place it will get signal for the last few months to use hotspot for my ps5 and fire stick. I can’t answer calls in the flat and it’s really stressful I’ve been looking at phone signal boosters but that would only allow me to use the phone in the flat and still would have no internet connection does anybody know of a better way I could maybe do it ?

4G router with external antenna? Then cable from the router to your PC or to a switch to give more outlets

Thanks for the quick reply, so I would need these 2 separate things? Are their any you would recommend?

I’ve just seen they vary in price, isit just a one off cost or would I be paying monthly for anything ?

You would need to pay for the SIM/data usage

I assume you don't have a phone line or fibre connection in the basement, is that what BT were quoting for?

You'll still have a monthly Data charge, but no rent for the router

Got you I’m currently just using my phone as hotspot I’m paying £67 a month with 02 for that could I use that and then swap them over when I want to leave the flat and just use me phone? Cheers for ur help

Yes they said I would need poles erected and more than one so it would cost 3k

No I moved in around February had a talktalk engineer come out he said it was a tricky one has they would have to erect poles to bring the wires from around the front

You need 4G router with external antena such as this:

Then you need one of those "sim only" plan £10-£15 per month with unlimited data and you will insert this sim card into the router. Alternatively speak to your existing mobile provider if they can give you second sim to use only for data.

When all set you can connect your devices to your router over WiFi or LAN to access internet.
