Hello and good evening

I have been asked to take a look at a Sunhouse sshe125 storage heater.

The heater’s fan is not working and Dimplex have suggested the fan needs replacing.

This afternoon I bench tested the fan motor and it operates, so I am now scratching my head.

The unit heats up but the fan doesn’t operate. I have checked all connections and they are all in order.

I have reset the unit but no luck.

The client said that they occasionally get an 02 error code but this is not there anymore.

Can anyone suggest what the issue might be?

Not familiar with these but the cct shows there are two thermostats in series with the fan at the bottom - presumably to turn it off when the room is hot!
A continuity check from the controller fan connections to the fan itself might be worthwhile?
Are you able to get to the pcb to check if there is mains out to the fan when it's supposed to be running?

Presumably the on-peak supply is there as well as off-peak, and the controller is showing signs of life!

Thank you Avo Mk8

I was actually looking at the wiring diagram last night.

I will check today the voltage coming to the motor/fan, I am assuming nothing as the motor would operate.

I will also check the voltage from the PCB where the motor connects, I am guessing if there is voltage there that the suspect part will be the "stats", I am guessing if there is no voltage from the PCB then it is the controller that has malfunctioned.

The unit has both Peak & Off Peak supply and the temperature of the bricks is very work, so I know the controller is requesting demand to heat the bricks.

Thanks,

Rob
