This is bizarre, my girlfriend said stick the kettle and as I did I thought this Haden kettle (purchased because made in the UK) had lasted at least two years. Boiled for a minute or so then the electric went off, I thought great power cut. After 15 minutes she said has something tripped and I thought hadn't thought of that and sure enough mcb and rcd off, reset and the kettle banged them both off. I said how much of a coincidence is that, she said, what you thought the kettle had lasted well and went bang or that I realised it wasn't a power cut.😣😣

I'd contend that anyone posting the likes of your comment above, would struggle to tell the difference between a bar of soap and a bar of music 😁
No 1in 6 countries worldwide. Massive in their home country of New Zealand.

UK one hit wonder, but I bet a lot of you know the words.

Here in sunny Spain a kettle lasts about 2 years max. The cal build-up kills them. If the board trips, unplug the kettle and all is well. Fancy ovens (I don't have one but my pal does) need a few minutes warm up near the controls with a hair dryer to drive any salty moisture out, if not used for a month or so. Have to use CalGon every time in the washing machine or dishwasher.
Back home in sunny Scotland our water is lovely! No such problems there.

Mine is still working, more than 90 years old now! It is in desperate need of polishing again though, certainly doesn't look like this at the moment...
