Does this mean that the patent or whatever was protecting the 'Dubai LED' has now expired/been overturned?

This is the question I've been meaning to ask. Knowing vastly superior lamps were exclusively available in a particular market has put me off buying Philips lamps for several years.
 
Interesting, might try these when my 1980s Philips SL18 jam jars eventually fail, they must have many thousands of hours on the clock by now.
