What speaker cable do I need to connect up these speakers?

I have just removed a rather expensive CD system from a house. I did explain to the customer that I thought it was worth quite a bit, but they just wanted shot of it.

Unfortunately no working speaker cables as I had to chop them off.

The unit is the bang Olufsen 9000, 6 CD player

[ElectriciansForums.net] What speaker cable do I need to connect up these speakers?

The speakers are Bang Olufsen beolab 4000 speakers. I believe one of them is mark1 and the other 2 speakers are mark2. They both have the 8pin round connectors in them for the speakers.

Do I just buy 8 pin Bang olufsen speaker cable? There seems to be 2 different types but they look identical.

First one = Powerlink mk 2 compatible - Black (8 pin DIN cable with fully wired 8 cores) - https://soundsheavenly.com/powerlink-8-pin-din-connection/23-powerlink-mk-2-compatible-black-8-pin-din-cable-with-fully-wired-8-cores.html

Will either of the above 2 cables work?

Easy one !! The speakers are Active so yeas you will need 8pin cables . Dont go down a Rabbit hole on quality etc etc .We are NOT talking high end hifi at all .Not bad Hifi ... but not worth spending a fortune on cables

There seems to be 2 types of 8 pin. See both my links. I'm not too sure if one is correct and one isn't, or if they both would be fine.

May I suggest that whatever cable you buy, avoid the uni-directional copper ones!
Also, you probably don't need to use this for your internal fuse

That's a good idea!

But... I've now taken them out from where they were and there were 2 different types there as well!

1 x 8 pin went into a multi player port.
1 x 8 pin went in the CD player.
2 x 8 pins went into the speakers.

I've counted the cores.
In 2 of the cables there were 3 cores and in the other 2 there were 6 cores??

Its possible they both work .. as the main 4 cores will be cover signal and power .The 4 core might be for older (Like this ) models. I would just call them and ask .
