Anyone wired and a Model 18 Hunt Boston Pencil Sharpener?

Electricity and I are not good buddies. It kicked my but more tham once, mabe 2 or 41 times, whos counting. Before i blow up this pencil sharpener, I would like advice on how to wire it. Plus i only have 1 out of 9 lives left, and self preservation is preventing me from trying this one! Help please!! Thanks a 999,999. Ill make it a cool million if you can help me get this very simple piece of machinery humming again!.

Heres what i know, there are 4 black wires, 2 from the motor and 2 from the activation sensor (im guessing on this. It took an hour to come up with this really big word.) My problen is there all black and the sticker fell off that shows me the video on how to wire it. Thanks

P.M.S. There are 3 wire caps. They are white. Didnt know if that was important. I can send a picture of these too if you like.

In answer to your question - no?
Just wire the 'sensor' in series with the motor.
One wire of the mains lead to one wire of the sensor, other wire of the sensor to one wire of the motor, other wire of the motor to the remaining mains lead. A 'wire cap' on each joint.
Voila?

PS No, the wire caps can be any colour - don't have to be white ?

Thanks for your reply to sdg812 about the sensor wires. I have a similar issue that I am hoping that you might be able to solve. We ordered a new gear and were successful in taking out the old one and putting in the new one. UNFORTUNATELY in the process a small piece with two wires with flat connectors came loose from the housing. Do you have thoughts on how they go back into the sensor housing and how the sensor housing attaches?

Well the original post was a while ago - I had forgotten all about it!
The 'sensor' appears to be a sideways operating microswitch, presumably specially made for this product.
I guess the idea is that pushing in the pencil (through the sensor ring) pushes that sideways towards the sharpener and closes the contacts. So the long bendy contact needs to be pushed against the small fixed contact by the moving plastic part. You can hopefully see from the moulding where the metal contacts go - the burnt black dot on the longer springy piece is obviously the electrical contact that needs to meet up with the corresponding contact pimple on the small piece.
You've got little locating grooves on both those contacts that presumably mate with protrusions in the moulding.
One pic in the original posting show the orientation of the whole thing and how it screws on the front of the sharpener.

PS Just to be clear, I have never seen one of these things, and my suggestions are pure guesswork, so apologies in advance if my comments don't make sense. Hopefully you can experiment and find the solution!
