Doing a kitchen job for my daughter’s music teacher, who also happens to have been in my wife’s class at school.
Nothing big… just a little alteration to sockets, and run in a new cable for a built in oven. Original cooker point being used for hob.

I hadn’t looked inside the board… just noted it was a duel RCD, with a couple of spare ways.
Got all the work done, and just needed to connect at the board.
Cover off, fine… then removed the busbar shield to fit a new breaker.

Found this

[ElectriciansForums.net] Little problem here. RCD…

Power is off at service isolator before anyone mentions live work.

Got to go get a proteus rcd from cities… and I’m sure the newer ones look different.
I might even have an old one in stock, but it’ll be a type AC if I do.

It wasn’t the only loose connection… the main 10mm bond was hanging out the earth bar.
Terminal screw marks on the copper… so it had been connected at some point… but maybe removed for testing.?

Were they having any electrical issues due to that ?

none at all....

and the rcd trips within specification... test button operational.... nothing to suggest there's a problem until you take the shield off

Power is off to it just now until i source a replacement... no one in the house, so not a problem.

Seen this where T&E has been fixed with a flat bend of too tight a radius.
