On an old voltmeter.
I'm not an electrician so maybe it's just some certification mark?

Not my meter but I'm sure the owner won't mind - I think it was black originally.
Those vintage UK panel mount volt meters all looked very similar. That rough pebbledash finish makes me think it might be a Weir but that's just a guess. I've never seen a voltmeter with such a short needle, I think the end of it might have broken off.

Yes, the owner told me a child had been at it and broken off the little arrow at the end.

You're right - a quick google yielded a Weir voltmeter with that nice finish and the unexplained logo.

That logo might be the company that bought it, not the manufacturer. It was common practice for big customers like power companies or the GPO for example to get items that might have been altered slightly to suit their needs and with their logo on it. The logo might also be as you say from an industry certification standards agency as well.

Please can someone buy this so I can stop being tempted! I have the BR4 in yellow plastic and the 18C in British Green, and I really don't need another one.... but it's so lovely and such an amazing machine and actually useful if your MFT batteries ever run out, and can do things no MFT can do....!

This is the stuff that the boss allows in the house.... I've been allocated one ikea compartment for "my junk"

The rest is in a box in the loft. I'm still trying to sell the idea of an illuminated shelf in a display cabinet, but we've been married 24 years and it hasn't become a 'major decision' yet. (We have this arrangement where minor decisions are her department and major ones are mine. In fact I'm not sure there have been any major decisions yet....)
