Hello everyone.

I’m looking at installing a camera on my garage. The garage has a 16A breaker for the sockets and 6A for lighting.

Am I able to use some 1mm twin and earth to wire the camera straight into the 6A with the lighting?

Thanks

Ryan

Yes, however remember to add a power supply as mains voltage straight into a ring camera makes a small but expensive bang!

Oh really? They advertise that you can replace existing outside lights with these cameras so I thought they could simply run on the same wiring.

Is there a power supply you could recommend?

Cheers.

Edit: So I forgot to mention I’m using their “hardwired kit”. Does this have the power supply built in? I’ll add a picture of the info on the kit.

Cheers.

My apologies, I had assumed (wrongly) that it was a ring doorbell
The camera is suitable for direct connection to the lighting circuit.

Hopefully there's an RCD feeding the garage Cu.

The 3A fuse is there to protect the current lighting. For additional power you connect from the non protected 3A fuse side.
