This week's collection:
1 - sent by my assistant in his holiday let. Many questions come to mind and that's before you read the label.
I asked him if it was an SPD tester.

2 - I don't think I've ever found 3 live sources over a single downlight before... 2 transformers with primary energised, secondary failed on one, both bulb holders still connected, and in addition a live GU10 bulb holder...

3 - The worst quote of the week in terms of expected time taken, adding a 2nd light switch other end of garage, how hard can it be? New switch and 3 core ran in about 25 minutes. Then I took the cover of the existing 1 gang switch... and this wasn't what I was expecting. Rather impressive! The 1mm T+E was eventually traced to an outside socket "for Christmas stuff".

I know the UK weather isn't the best at times but lightning strikes on demand is going a bit too far

The block of flats i do maintenance for had a brand new Tesla charger installed, I knew the guy whose parking space it was lived in the next block on the 2nd floor

Had to have a nose to see where he supplied it from

Gonna see alot more of this type of thing!

What about the poor guy who cuts the grass!

I wonder how its been protected at the consumer unit end?

Report it.

Is there a management co. that looks after the grassed areas? This has introduced a hazard that shouldn’t be there…. As you say, the grass cutter might get a bit of a shock when he next runs over it.

Is it a UK compliment charge point or an Amazonian special?

Could they have not rearranged the parking spaces so his was directly below his flat… negating the need to cut across the grass.

It’s an actual Tesla charge point?

You think he could afford to have it done properly then

He's gunna have all the neighbours charging from it when he's away
naaah...

if its a smart charge point, (as it should be if for sale in UK) then it can be programmed to only work from a phone app.... or, when hes away, he can simply turn it off from within his flat.

Not electrical but I found this amusing. While wandering around Merthyr waiting for my Transit to have the work done on it's recall I saw this on a busy(ish, as busy as Merthyr gets) street. I didn't see a scafftag on it though. They did take safety seriously, those planks are screwed into the ally poles of the scaff :D
