Is it just the switches, do the back boxes need a cpc?
The boxes may be metal, but is there an insulated block for the faceplate screws to go into? Thus electrically separating the screws from the box itself.
Another thing they used to do was use plastic screws….
And of course, only class II switches and light fittings. No fancy decorative metal plates.
I think nowadays, the consensus is to recommend a rewire when no cpc present…. And sometimes, it’s not actually difficult if the wiring is in conduit.
Speaking of which, a lot of “new” testers don’t cotton on to the fact that continuous steel conduit IS the cpc. If they don’t see a green and yellow wire, they mark it down as no cpc.

Thank little spark, I believe the budget won't run for. a rewire this year but they are well aware it needs to be done
Reminds me.... are we still expected to test at 20A on conduit used as cpc? I can't instantly see it referred to in GN3 or s.6 anymore.
