Wylex NHRS6604 Split Load Can It be make to Dual RCD | on ElectriciansForums

Discuss Wylex NHRS6604 Split Load Can It be make to Dual RCD in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

you could do it by adding an extra RCD and internal tails, but at the price of the board + RCD it's not cheap. i buy wylex dual boards for less. check out electric center for price.

Dont know the wylex kit very well but I would have by purchasing another RCD and linkibg kit it would do the job- google it!

you seen the price of it though, bugsy, ÂŁ128.59 inc.vat. then another rcd and tails on top makes it ÂŁ150. leccy center do em made up 2 rcd for under a ton.

board is already installed. I have been upgrading kitchen and bathroom wiring. already has a 80a rcd. Have got a 63a rcd and split load cables. Was just not sure if it could be done. And how to wire it never had to do it before.
The link was just to show the board. would not pay that much for one.

If you have the RCD and tails it can be done and is straight forward.

Just link the new RCD to the main switch and use the other neutral bar cutting the old bussbar to size to fit the RCD and mcb's.

You will have to rearrange the ccts etc as all sockets will be on rcd side at mo and lights etc on the unprotected side.

Be carefull with the bussbar as it fits on the bottom rear of the rcd & mcb's on the screws, like a little U shape, and as you squash the mcb's up against the other rcd to the left the bussbar can touch the neutral screw on the other rcd as some have no insulation on them.

Hope this makes sense.

link from bottom of main switch to top of new rcd L and N. bottom of RCD N to N bar. L to busbar.

If you add up the cost of RCD, tails, and your hourly rate, depending on how many circuits, may be cheaper and certainly quicker to throw in a few RCBOs
