Morning Chaps....

Having bit of trouble wiring up a BT extension, normally ok with this but stumped today ?:stuart:

Trying to daisy chain off an existing working extension which has 2 x 3pr wires in there already, set up as follows :

2=Blue/white 3=Orange/white 5=White/blue

(the remaining 3 pairs are linked together in their respective pairs.)

So I just tried daisy chaining off that with my 3rd cable and no joy ? Have also tried putting my spare cores in the empty terminals 1 / 4 / 6 still nothing ?

Hope this makes a bit of sense to someone. The cable is plastered in now so will be a right pain if this isn't going to do the job !

Help please, thanks Sy [ElectriciansForums.net] Need some help please....

Sorry my explanation isn't too great...

The picture shown is the existing point which is working fine (2 x BT wires there at present)

When I try to connect in my third BT wire in this point I'm getting nothing the other end ?

Have re-croned all the connections (was my 4th job at 18:00 on a Friday though !!)

Might have to test the cable out then, really unlikely it's got damaged though ...

you say have croned terminals but you would be very tight getting 3 cores in a terminal and all making. You may be better off using a screw terminal one like you took off to fit them all in. Down side is the cores tend to snap off when you tighten it up.
Just for testing make them in three bits of conector block and see if it works, bit quicker than belling out as you may have more than one core down.

Thanks for the tip

Seemed a little tight know what you mean - will definitely give that a go, better than having to bell it all out

"A catalogue of errors" would be the appropriate phrase here and I agree with Avo and James that HSE need to be involved rather than this forum...
