Changed a C/U today, when i took cover off found live = blue, neutral = red, with cable ties marked L & N in correct position. This was the same at meter so it must have been the meter guy! The meter had a test date of 2006, outside meter box probably fitted about same time. PME must have been done at same time. Notice the connector on earth, 16mm from meter box, then 4mm! Also notice the snipped out cores on 25mm tails.

An inch away from reverse polarity IMO , which is a sackable offence for the meter fitters.
Usually they dont need to touch the CU when changing the meter , just reconnect tails as is.
But rough yeah.
