hi everybody
could someone advise me on the best holesaw kit for electricians and what size/diameter we use quite often. I am going to install downlights requiring 75mm dia. but instead of buying one by one i would like to spend money once for a good kit.I think that way you can save some money for a lifetime tool.
thanks

Starett are good, buy separately though as u never use the sizes in the kits, 20mm 25mm are used alot, also I stick to click downlights so I have all of them also a 4inch one for fans, just buy them as you use them and create your own kit! Definatly the way forward

i have a kit of 6, all fit together on 1 arbour, from 32mm to 80mm. ÂŁ6.95 from local DIY shop. OK, might not be any use on steel, but for ceilings, brilliant.

screwfix do a electricians box 15,20,25 ,32 etc ok to start off with as for downlights these always vairy in exact size i got a set for downlights from a cheap shop by me, i think buyology its called these are usualy only a couple of mil out so with a wiggle most lights fit (only good enough for plasterboard though)

The problem is that most kits don't contain the sizes you think you will need and take a look at a number of downlights in any trade shop or shed and you'll realise that there isn't a standard.

I use CK, and have built up a decent collection over time. These aren't cheap but you get what you pay for.

I bought one of these ages ago.......

and its now full of probably every size of holesaw IN THE WROLD!!!

I suppoose a lot depends on what area you mainly work in, I've got holesaws for every size of armoured from 1.5mm 3 core to 300mm 4 core. I just replace as and when.

The bosch powerchange are ok but not my cup o tea.

Thanks for your help. I'll get Arbor A2 to cover 75mm holesaw and A1 for 20mm.
