Protection for cables leaving building

I'm running an 'armoured' cable from a fused spur in the main building to a garage 5mtrs away.
The cable emerges from the main building about 300mm above soil level and will be secured to the wall with saddle clips before going underground.
I've seen on other sites a capping which is secured to the wall, covering the cable and protecting it from damage, but don't know what its called or who sells it. Any thoughts pls?

Wouldn't have thought you'd need to protect armoured cable, the steel wired armour is excellent protection in itself. I'd also be inclined not to spur the garage supply from another circuit, rather run it directly from the main fuse board with its own appropriately rated protective device, as the armoured cable should be treated as a circuit in its own right.

Depends, we sometimes use the steel version of this on polls

I take your point about being a separate circuit, that's got to be a better way to do it.
