Discuss Sneak preview of the 18th edition regs in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Due to an influx of wannabes but dont wanna learn they brought this book out IEE regulations for dummies, as you can expect; changing into easy to understand does take up more space ;)

Please tell me this 18th edition lark is a wind up? i'm losing the will to live. osg lol

Thats what it is all about continual updates that pee off older sparks who are sick fed up having to qualify for something every other year but mind dont worry cos just when you think the 18th is sorted out we will be back in the saddle for a GN3 I&T review then a 5th edition of ISI&TEE O and then we will be on to the 19th and then Ah well you know the rest

Whilst all the banter is good, isn't it actually the point of the BGB to be vague enough to avoid having to be this big?! If you think about it, there are far more things we do everyday just as 'good practice' than are ever in the 400 odd pages of BS7671 - so write them all down and you DO end up with this much paper.

Oh and for what it's worth, the OP is mistaken. That's NOT the 18th, it's the new S.A. forms for 2013-2014.

.......... but there's no Geordie version apparently.

Never mind ...... I'll just hae tae translate frae yon Scots version ........ Och Aye!!!

Your accent isn't far off Scottish lol maybe you are really and the north east was joined at one time but Scotland broke away from you people up there pet lol

In fairness it's only guidance though. Other means are not proscribed. That is for the Designer to ascertain.
