Having trouble with a isolator switch.

Fitted 20A D.P isolator switch in a shower circuit and the switch has failed. This is the second one I've fitted of the same type as the first failed aswell.
Shower is 8Kw. Should this happen, or should i have fitted 45A.

Any ideas,
Thanks.

All I can say is...

I do regret starting this post. It is an old shower which already had 20A switch on with no problems. I totally agree it was very nieave of me to replace without calcs. I will refrain from asking for advice in the future.

Thanks for replys.

no ones saying dont ask advice.....but will you please please..just look at it first and consider what the problem may be/whats causing the problem...before just reaching for the easy path (ask in here)....you will learn more that way....its just to easy too ask in here all the time before considering it for yourself....especially on something pretty obvious like this.....

Even if the 20A was deemed to be sufficient it would do no harm to fit a 45A DP shower isolator. I would do this anyway as it would allow for someone fitting a larger shower at a later date:thumbsup

No such thing as a stupid question but this was one of the more simple ones;)

Head up, lesson learnt... Please come back and ask away in future. This is a great forum with an abundance of knowledge.

:thumbsup
